CATAN: Explorers & Pirates (6th Edition) is a major expansion dedicated entirely to discovery, adventure, and seafaring strategy. Sent out by the Council of Catan, players venture into uncharted waters to discover new islands, establish outposts, and complete daring missions for fame and rewards.

Using components from the CATAN base game alongside new frame pieces, hexes, ships, and scenario elements, this expansion creates a much larger game board that encourages exploration and long-distance planning. Ships are no longer restricted to fixed routes — they can now move freely across the seas, transporting settlers, crews, fish, and spices.

The expansion introduces several interconnected missions. Players must battle pirates threatening Catan’s coasts, haul valuable fish from rich shoals, and trade spices with distant villages. Completing missions earns rewards from the Council of Catan, while village encounters unlock powerful abilities such as faster sailing or improved combat strength.

Explorers & Pirates stays true to the core CATAN rules while adding depth, variety, and long-term strategic planning. With multiple scenarios and modular gameplay, every session offers a different adventure.

Note: This is not a standalone game. The CATAN base game (6th Edition) is required to play.
