USB to USB Mini Cable
What is USB?
Commonly found on desktop computers and laptops, USB connections are among the most versatile type of connections. USB is primarily used for transferring data between devices, but it also has the ability to transfer power between compatible devices. Currently four versions of USB exist – USB 3.1 (10Gbps), USB 3.0 (5Gbps), USB 2.0 (480Mbps) and USB 1.1 (12Mbps). In most cases cables are compatible across all versions but maximum transfer speed may be limited. For example, a USB 2.0 cable in a USB 3.0 port would only provide a maximum transfer rate of 480Mbps, not 5Gbps. To achieve optimum transfer speeds here, a USB 3.0 cable should be used.
Why use this USB-A 2.0 to mini USB-B 2.0 cable
This cable uses USB-A 2.0 and mini USB-B 2.0 connectors. It is mainly used to connect a large range of devices to a desktop or laptop using USB-A ports. You could connect the cable to your digital camera, giving you the ability to transfer images. Alternatively, it could be used with an external USB hard drive to provide extra storage for your computer or laptop. You could even use the cable with a USB hub to provide extra USB ports for your computer. The USB cable provides a maximum transfer rate of 480Mbps when used with a USB 2.0 port. Power can also be provided through the USB cable in compatible devices.
